In March 2023, slack basically added a basic form of task management in the form of the "Save it for later" list. From here you can mark complete, archive, or remove from list. Would be great to see 2 way sync support to incorporate into other task management software (i.e. Asana). Ideally the contents of the message would be included in the task, and by completing the task, it would archive the item in Slacks' "later" list.
